Our resident corn experts, Juke’s is a heavy hitter and great pals in the barleywine realm and real life. Back in January 2023 when they came out for our first ever Woodstock beer festival held at New Groove, we just had to take the opportunity to brew up something big and fun. We pulled up a killer jamgrass playlist while we double mashed and then boiled and boiled and boiled a big munichwine brewed with Panela sugar, only to tuck it away in 6+ year old Willett bourbon barrels for almost 2 years. Since then, most of the beer has been resting a further year in Nebraska’s own Sideshow Spirits whiskey casks. The big, sticky munichwine has been tamed by the second barrel, but the flavor is bigger than ever. Full and rich, with a distinct molasses note that stops short of cloying when the spirit cuts in and insists on drying the finish off. Rich, decadent, and assertive.
Available for pickup at Woodstock ’26 beer festival Saturday February 7 (ticket holders ONLY) or at New Groove taproom beginning Sunday February 8 at 12pm.
